This is a replacement soft top for the Capri produced in Haartz Stayfast Canvas to exacting standards using CNC cutting technology and comes with plastic window to replicate the OEM part.
We generally stock the original colours offered by Ford however if you would like something custom made in a different colour or material please get in touch with us and will endeavour to help.
To make sure you order the correct part measure your existing top (side) from the very front of the embossed print to the rear second line of the embossed print, this top is 60cm – See second picture for guide. Heat sealed embossed rear window, rear retainer and side weather seals. Please call for pricing on other colour and material options.
Allow approximately 4.5 hours for the installation. There is no installation guide included, we therefore recommend professional installation from one of our authorised installers. That said, many of our customers have installed their own parts and been happy with the result. It depends largely on your patience and level of practical experience.
Stayfast, for many decades, was OEM material of choice for many makes and models. Unlike Mohair, sometimes referred to as its British competitor, Stayfast has outstanding UV resistance ideal for the Australian climate. It utilises an acrylic square weave facing, rubber inner-layer, and cotton backing, giving the material a good amount of stretch to really facilitate the perfect look and fit. Thickness is ~1.0mm. Stayfast canvas resists colour fading and shrinking far better than vinyls do. It also remains more pliable at lower temperature resisting creases and wrinkles common with vinyls making it an excellent upgrade in many applications.
The PVC used for the plastic window is a 40-gauge Regalite B.U.V. Ultralight plastic, which offers superior resistance to Australian UV light and scratches caused by washing and soft top use.
